If I had a chance to explain competition in just one word I'll say. . .hmmm unexpected? I fell asleep then I was awaken by my friend & Chris. But then I fell asleep quickly, thank God. I woke up at like around 4:30ish..err no. My grandma woke me up at like 4:20ish but I got kinda mad cuz I wanted to sleep those 10 more minutes SO I did :) I got to school and it was dark out & kind of cold but we were waiting for the school bus to get here so we could go to the OTHER school where the competition was being held.

That place was pretty far. Talk about TWO and a HALF hours sitting in an uncomfy seat in a bus. I had to readjust my butt like every five minutes. We went all the way to South Jersey, pretty much border line Philadelphia because it was right next door! But down there all you see is farms&farms&farms..I seriously didn't know there were farms in New Jersey O.o The school was so dull and boring and depressing..really.

Fast forward to competition. There was a guy in there that won first place in nationals so I was intimidated! And there was some other guy who's done this for three years & he looked pretty confident. There were others there too and they looked ready as well, about 10/11 of us. Last competition was a spelldown, so I automatically new if I made it or not. But for this competition, we had to take a written test, so I had to wait from about 11 ish to 2:30pm to know if I made it or not. The anticipation was killing me! I was SOOO nervous! The test wasn't SO hard but it wasn't SO easy either, so I had no clue! So, come 2:30 my heart was in my throat, that's where I felt it! They began with 5th place...some guy/girl..then 4th place...some guy/girl from another school. Before they said your name, they said you're school. But there was some guy & me from the same school competing in the same thing. So technically, I had NO idea if it was going to be him or me. Come 3rd place, they say our school..and I grabbed my friend that was next to me. When they said my name...O M G! I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! On stage, I was in freaking disbelief, I seriously couldn't even talk I was like "omg. omg. omg. omg. omg. omg."

Second place was the guy that supposedly won first place in nationals! He was sooooo bigheaded! You should've seen the way he walked up to the stage like he's somebody. First place was the guy who's been doing this for 3 years, he's cool :) The funny thing is that I beat him at last competition because he was either fourth/third place and I was second! SO! I could beat him in actually spelling but he beat me in the test. And in nationals, it's a mixture of both, along with everybody from every state! Awesome! To tell you the truth, I don't really care if I don't win at nationals, I just want to go to Orlando! :D

So that sums it pretty much. Won third place!
